package, you may flick instantly between functions: go from recall
to appointments to billing to wordprocessing and back with just
a few clicks of your mouse. And with its in-built "intelligence" you never have to enter any information more than once.

Send bills and reminders in seconds
MidexPro rapidly becomes your own, highly personalised system.
Record the patient and treatment details and MidexPro
does the rest, producing invoices to your own personal layout. Another click will queue the bill for
electronic transmission (EDI).
Of course, you only ever enter patient and referral details once,
MidexPro effectively remembers things as you
go along so without any effort you build up your own list of treatments,
fees, referrals, etc. over time, so that next time you need something
a simple click of the mouse is all that is required. Intelligent
monitoring of your data entry means that simple mistakes don't
get made, for example, if you record a payment dated before treatment
takes place, or a payment for more than the amount of the bill,
your action will be queried.

is individually tailored according to how long it has been overdue

Using MidexPro over a period of time you build
up your own personal list of treatments; the system effectively
remembers what you do. Each treatment is described in your own
terms and you assign the most appropriate code. No more cryptic
abbreviations and stilted jargon on your patient invoices. If you wish, you may bulk import whole fee schedules supplied by your insurers.

Naturally MidexPro has those essential facilities
such as the instant availability of each patient's account balance,
the handling of partial and pre-payments, producing lists of overdue accounts,
special handling of seriously overdue accounts, detailing of accounts
handed over to a debt collector, bad debts, etc.
MidexPro has no artificially imposed year end
procedures, you always have the complete patient account
history and clinical history available at all times. Confidentiality is assured
through comprehensive password control.

How long do you spend
looking up phone numbers for patients and others? Forget it, simply click on the
telephone icon by each telephone number and MidexPro will automatically
dial for you - just one of the touches you get used to with MidexPro The layout of invoices, reminders
and all other documents is determined by you using Microsoft Word. You have all
the sophisticated features of Word available so all layouts are under your complete
control, e.g. to incorporate your own letterhead.
The flexibility you need is assured by the use of free text when
required. Completed treatment episodes can be flagged ready for
billing and sent at any convenient time. Charges may be accumulated
over the period of treatment and the invoice held open; send the
bill only when treatment is complete. Bill regular patients
monthly if required, hold back reminders for selected patients
if appropriate. You choose how you want to run your practice,
MidexPro is simply a tool at your service.

Activity report |
Full reports are available on both screen and printer, with subtotalling, e.g.
by month, insurance company, etc. as required. Full sorting and drill-down
is implemented in all reports; double click on any item in a report and the
underlying data will be shown. For example, when displaying an Activity Report
summarising all the treatments you have provided, simply click on any treatment
in the list to see a chronological list of those patients so treated, double
click on any patient in the list to see their invoice for that treatment, instantly.
Should further processing is needed then a single click will load any
report into Excel, for graphing etc.

MidexPro is not just a billing package, not only can you analyse
by diagnosis or treatment but you can setup your own User menus to aid in
clinical research or audit. For example, if you were a urologist, you might want
a report on men over 60 who had complications following a prostate resection,
the report to subtotal the post-operative complications or outcome, then pass
this report to Excel for further analysis and graphing - all with a few clicks
of your mouse. An orthopaedic surgeon might want to mail all patients who had
received a particular type of hip prosthesis. A physician might want to mail all
patients on a particular drug regime.

Effective follow-up is essential for the health of your patients, e.g. for the long-term
follow-up of cancer patients or simply to bring patients back
for immunisations or even to prompt for the chasing of investigation
results. MidexPro's Recall system can
be used for any long-term or short-term prompting. You may setup your own
recall categories, each with standard recall periods and letters, e.g. Breast Ca follow-up,
and default prompt time, e.g. 6 months.
When patients become due for recall you are automatically prompted
to contact them. You may send a personalised prompt letter to
every patient due with a single click of your mouse. The fact
that you have sent a prompt is automatically recorded. Of course,
you may also prompt by telephone, fax or e-mail if preferred. MidexPro
will list as overdue any patient who does not respond.

Write prescriptions for your patients and/or monitor drug use,
if you run your own pharmacy even print labels for your drug bottles and
packets, of course the patient is billed for drugs with a single mouse click.

Wordprocessing option: Filing? - Forget it!
|
The production of letters and reports is an integral part of any
medical practice and can be enormously time consuming. With MidexPro's
Wordprocessing option you to achieve a tremendous increase in productivity
because it links your MidexPro patient data directly into Microsoft Word. Set up standard letters or other documents to
suit your own needs (several examples are supplied). Printing a letter is as
simple as selecting the patient then the template type; the
letter immediately displays on screen
with all patient and referral details pre-entered, just type the main text then
print it. Where no additional text
is required, you can produce standard letters in seconds. They need that
letter now? Just click the e-mail or fax button and it's there.

As you save each letter, AutoClerk, MidexPro's medical
document manager, automatically files and indexes it under the patient; no
more thinking up new names for each letter, medico-legal report, etc., all that
is done for you, automatically. To retrieve a previous letter simply select any patient to see their documents listed
chronologically, click on any one and it opens up on screen for
you to read, or to print another copy, immediately.

The paperless office
You can scan documents directly into the MidexPro patient
record, but even better, if you have a room full of filing cabinets, have all
your old documents scanned in bulk and MidexPro
will automatically index each one under the correct patient. You can then get
rid of all those old files and at the same time have the advantage of being able
to use MidexPro to search all those documents for any content, in seconds.
And mailings too:
MidexPro's wordprocessing option also offers the integrated
facility for bulk mailings: patients, GPs,
referrers, etc. This otherwise extremely time consuming task is
totally automated.

If you want to maintain proper control over your practice finances, and help
keep down your accountant's fees, the Expenses option completes
the financial picture. It allows for the recording
of your expenses under category headings which you decide, and
in addition, it enables your non-patient related income, e.g.
lecture fees, book royalties, bank interest, etc. to be recorded. You may raise
invoices for your non-patient income or simply record payments
received without billing.
Naturally you have full analysis available, and now your outgoings
are also recorded you may produce a full Income and Expenditure
report for your accountant at any time with a single click of your mouse.

A really quick and easy, flexible, 'drag and drop' diary makes handling
appointments, from clinic scheduling to operating theatre
booking, childishly simple.
You may setup several diaries, each for a different purpose. You
may assign your own session times, even restrict a diary to, say the last Friday of every month.
Set up different appointment types, e.g. Initial visit,
Follow-up, Minor operation, etc.
and assign each a different default duration, 20 minutes, 3 hours,
etc.

Making an appointment is then simply a matter of dragging the Appointments
button on the diary screen and dropping it at the required time
on the diary. The system will automatically find the next available
appointment based on constraints which you specify, e.g. only
Wednesdays or Fridays between 2pm and 4pm. You may view your diary
by day, week or month and print lists of all appointments between
any dates you wish, hence producing clinic and theatre lists.

Appointment, reschedule and cancellation letters (you decide the
content and layout) may be printed, automatically, with just a click of your mouse.

MidexPro enables electronic billing (EDI) direct to participating
insurers via the Healthcode Veda system.
Your claims are submitted securely
over the internet. Queue and validate your claims
for transmission with a simple click of your
mouse, as simple as printing an invoice.
Submitting your claims electronically using MidexPro enables you
to keep control over your finances.

The Investigations option enables
you to order tests on patient samples and receive results in return. The
electronic order request is transmitted automatically to the laboratory
and results are received as soon as they are available. The results are
automatically integrated into the MidexPro patient record.

In the UK VAT, Value Added
Tax, is payable on all medical services not solely for the healthcare of the
patient, this obviously includes most medicolegal reports and cosmetic surgery
but can include other services. This is a grey area and the penalties for not
complying can be draconian, so you must discuss with your
accountant whether or not you need to register for VAT.
VAT accounting is complex and VAT
returns must be made quarterly. The MidexPro VAT option makes VAT
billing a simple matter, equally simple is the recording of the recoverable VAT
on your Expenses. MidexPro enables the complex figures for your VAT return to be produced with
just a click of
your mouse. |

In addition to the standard, single practice version, MidexPro
is also available with a multi-practice option. This is ideal for a
secretary handling several medical practices (they may all be different
specialties) or where a single doctor wishes to partition their
activities in some way, such as normal patients, research patients,
medico-legal work, etc.
Multi-practice MidexPro
is also ideal for administering endoscopy and radiology units. It is also a
highly suitable and cost efficient way to run a billing service.
Purchase of this
option allows up to 999 practices to be configured at no extra cost, each with their own standard
treatment lists, fee scales, diaries, letters, etc.
The multi-practice version allows reports to be run for a single
practice or over all practices to which you have access. Naturally
there is comprehensive password control so that data is seen only
by those users permitted to do so.
The network option, provides full multi-user
access for the larger office with a full back-office, practice management
service. Once you have your network up and running, installing MidexPro
is childishly simple.

anywhere in the world, can be provided via a Remote
hosting service. Anywhere you can access the internet
